Camden House's Legal Advocate assists and guides survivors of family violence through the criminal justice and court systems, providing support with Temporary Protection Orders (TPOs), court advocacy, victims' rights, and legal resources. Services include crisis intervention, safety planning, assessments, referrals, emotional support, and individualized goal planning.
The Legal Advocate helps participants navigate the legal process by preparing TPO paperwork, coordinating hearings, assisting with police reports and crime victim resources, preparing survivors for court appearances and testimony, and providing court accompaniment when needed.
Camden House collaborates with Georgia Legal Aid, which provides free legal services to those who qualify. All services are free of charge and confidential.
